metal lipo storage box

Lipo storage in ammo box. what do you think of this military ammo box? has gasket seal on top too. think its a safe one to store lipo's in? i would rather carry them in my plastic bag then to have a metal box full of lipo battery sliding around and maybe crushing my plane.. Always use a fire proof lipo safety bag, metal ammo box, or other fire proof container when you are charging, discharging, or storing your lipo batteries. while lipo fires are rare, they can happen incredibly quickly and can do a lot of damage. ammo boxes and lipo bags for storage and charging also a second co2 fire extinguisher, won’t. Plastic containers are not suitable for lipo storage and defiantly not suitable for charging containers. a steel (not ali) container is required - and if its an ammo box or similar sealed container drill a 3mm gas vent hold in it somewhere. if you're using a metal box to store lipos, it might be a good idea to put the the lipos in a plastic.

Updated 14/11/2013 i did a small test to see how a cheap cashbox would hold up to a burning lipo. this was done with a fully charged 3s 2100 mah lipo battery.... Plastic containers are not suitable for lipo storage and defiantly not suitable for charging containers. a steel (not ali) container is required - and if its an ammo box or similar sealed container drill a 3mm gas vent hold in it somewhere. if you're using a metal box to store lipos, it might be a good idea to put the the lipos in a plastic.
